Learner of the Month August 2026

Meet our Learner of the Month for August 2026. Through her Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeship at the London Metropolitan University, Elaheh Homayounvala has developed her coaching techniques including active listening, powerful questioning and non-directive support to enable meaningful conversations.

Our Learner of the Month for August 2026 is Elaheh Homayounvala, who works at the London Metropolitan University as a Reader (Associate Professor) in Artificial Intelligence is currently completing the Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeship.

Why Elaheh Chose a Coaching Professional Apprenticeship

Coaching was already a meaningful and natural part of Elaheh's role, although she initially considered another apprenticeship, professional coaching felt like the right fit after discussing her options.

The apprenticeship presented the perfect opportunity to build on her existing knowledge while preparing for the next stage of her career.

"I believe this apprenticeship will help me actually to become more effective in managing teams and supporting colleagues and students in a more professional and hopefully impactful way."

Growing Through the Apprenticeship Journey

One of the highlights of Elaheh's Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeship has been recognising that she had already been applying some of the approaches she was learning, without even realising it.

"I realised that I've already applying some of these approaches without being fully aware of them, but the apprenticeship has also helped me to think about how I can apply new learning in my job and then plan for doing that more intentionally."

Looking Ahead

Elaheh's ambition is to progress in her role to have more leadership and senior responsibilities, where she can continue to challenge herself, lead larger teams, and make and even greater impact.

When asked what advice she would give to anyone considering an apprenticeship, Elaheh's message is simple:

"I would say go for it. You will learn a lot, you will enjoy the experience and you can develop both professionally and personally"
